

What is the NEF Share Scheme?
This is an investment initiative created by the government to help uplift and empower all historically disadvantaged South Africans. This initiative has been made possible by the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) which supports, creates and enables Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment
(BBBEE) opportunities.
How can you benefit from the NEF Asonge Share Scheme?
Through Asonge, you can now own a part of South Africa's economy. You can now own MTN shares at a 20% discount to market value. Over and above this, you will also be eligible to earn bonus shares at the end of two years
Who can invest?
Through Asonge, you can now own a part of South Africa's economy. You can now own MTN shares at a 20% discount to market value. Over and above this, you will also be eligible to earn bonus shares at the end of two years.This offer is open to all historically disadvantaged individuals and savings and investment groups.
How much money do I need to invest?
The minimum investment amount you, as an individual or as a savings and or investment group, need is R2 000. Individuals may invest a maximum amount of R50 000 and savings and or investment groups;
a maximum of R100 000.
When can I invest?
The National Empowerment Fund ASONGE Share Scheme is open between 23 July and 16 August 2007.
All black individuals will need the following information and documentation to qualify for this offer:
- Name, postal or residential address and a green, barcoded ID book
- Copy of original, valid South African ID book
- Banking details
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Contact details
Registered black savings and or investment groups will need the following information and documentation to qualify for the offer:
- Registered name, registration number, registered address, trading name, proof of authority of individual purporting to act on behalf of the entity
- Supporting documentation for verification purposes – e.g. Certificate to Commence of Business \ Founding statement \ Trust deed
- Resolution stating who are the authorised signatories of the company
