Davies probing R34m funding for luxury goods store, Daron Mann Breakfast, Algoa FM

Mondi was the chief gainer on the JSE, up nearly five percent on the news that its first-half profits would be sharply higher while the chief loser was Absa with disappointing first-half earnings. DTIC Minister Rob Davies has called for a report into the R34 million provision by the National Empowerment Fund to high-end fashion store, Luminance in Hyde Park Shopping Centre. The store is co-owned by magazine publisher Khanyi Dhlomo, her mother and Judy Dlamini, the wife of First Rand chief executive officer Sizwe Nxasana. The question is asked whether these very well connected people ought not to have raised cash the normal way through the banks.
