POLICE minister Nathi Mthethwa is set to walk down the aisle with his powerhouse businesswoman sweetheart in a lavish Valentine's week ceremony next month.

The couple is raising the bar for celebrity weddings to follow this year, with what sources say will be a day of opulence and splendour for the nouveau riche.

Mthethwa is set to marry the love of his life, CEO of the National Empowerment Fund Philisiwe Buthelezi, on February 15.

She recently hinted in an interview with Destiny magazine that she would be “walking down the aisle with a partner she described only as 'wise, loving and a wonderful man who has dedicated his life to the service of our country'.”
