Nurturing entrepreneurship Unleashing masses of the unemployed into self-employment is the answer to SA's job crisis provision of a large base of mentorship programmes for entrepreneurs, advancing access to resources, as well as a more co-ordinated partnership between the public and private sectors are crucial interventions if South Africa were to fully tap into its entrepreneurial reservoir in addressing the backlog of joblessness and meet the target of creating five million jobs by 2020. This is the view of several specialists on the shortcomings of the premier development finance institutions (DFIs) in this country.
