Export Council elects new CEO, ENGINEER IT

The board of the South African Electrotechnical Export Council (SAEEC) has appointed Chiboni Evans as CEO. This follows the resignation of Eileen Leopold as CEO. Evans is well known to SAEEC members and has represented the SAEEC on many occasions since her appointment to the board of directors in October 2007. In December of that year, she was appointed chair of the board and held this position until December 2011. Evans, who has worked in the UK and Zambia, has experience with major global organisations including Cargill, the Mars Corporation, SAB Miller, IMIS Global, Intercontinental Hotels and Deloitte. She has created valuable relationships with South African institutions such as the Department of Trade and Industry, the Industrial Development Corporation and the National Empowerment Fund through her business consulting firm, StratconsultSA.
