The National Empowerment Fund (NEF) has lined up participation of black investors in a number of large industrial projects valued at more than R33bn.
Undertaken through the Strategic Projects Fund, the NEF said in a statement these projects have the potential to create between 150000 and 200000 decent jobs.
NEF CEO Philisiwe Buthelezi said the organisation had gained demonstrable traction and was ready to make a contribution towards the creation of black industrialists through partnerships.
“There are many entrepreneurs with the necessary acumen to wrestle the country’s industrial backlog by pursuing opportunities in the economic value chain in critical infrastructure and industries through existing and new enterprises,” said Buthelezi.
