Elliotdale project boost for Wild Coast tourism AR50-MILLION “green” hotel to be funded by the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) and Industrial Development Corporation is on the cards in the Wild Coast town of Elliotdale as tourist interest in the area looks set to grow. The Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) hailed the project as a pioneering hotel and said it had also committed R1-million of its own funds towards the construction. ECDC said a feasibility study it conducted indicated the project would be viable. The 100-room Nkanya Lodge is the brainchild of four locals and expected to cost a further R50-million, half of which will be financed by the NEF with the remaining funds from the IDC.
