'Take black business funding seriously', SOWETAN, Business

QUBEKA SAYS NEF NEEDS TO TAKE RISKS AFTER the National Empowerment Fund lifted the moratorium on funding, a business leader said the fund should come up with measures to ensure that it does not stop funding black businesses. Former chief executive of the Black Business Council, Xolani Qubeka, told Sowetan yesterday that there should be seriousness in funding and creating black industrialists. “When there was a moratorium placed on funding, this was in contrast to government's objective of levelling the playing fields,” said Qubeka, who is now CE of the Small Business Development Institute.
