The Khula-Adwandze Fund concentrates on black sugar-cane farmers, with loan financing available from R1 300 to R15 000 per hectare. The fund, a joint venture between IKhuLa and Akwandze Agricultural Finance (a BEE vehicle in which the company Tsb Sugar and the farmers of Liguguletfu have stakes) has made loans to more than 900 farmers over the last two years. An active agency in supporting entrepreneurs is the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) which has a presence in every province. Seda assists SMEs in getting financial help, as well as providing advice in the drafting of business plans, marketing strategies and in skills training.
