Premier Helen Zille is aiming to surprise everyone on the red carpet outside parliament tomorrow evening, ahead of the State of the Nation address. The veil of secrecy that surrounds Zille's outfit left her spokesman Zak Mbhele bemused yesterday, when asked whether she would be going for a Hendrik Vermeulen dress again. Zille has been sneaking out for fittings, it would seem. She wore a purple and green flowing Vermeulen dress last year. “I've been barred from the dress fittings. I don't know what she's going to be wearing. I think they want it to be a surprise,” Mbhele said yesterday.
