Themba Ntuli hired Riaan Stiglingh in 2006, he did not know they would one day become business partners — and be in business with their employees. Six years later, the pair have grown their business from transport contracting to owning their own timber farms of more than 1 300 hectares. The two met when Ntuli was looking for an operations manager for his business and Stiglingh had just closed down his enterprise. Both ran companies that provided services like transporting logs and cutting down trees on contract to timber companies. A year later Ntuli and Stiglingh became partners and bought a plantation in Mpumalanga's Badplaas.
